Back from Lao PDR
Just arrived back in Bangkok after a 20 hour busride from Vang Vieng, Lao PDR (People's Democratic Republic). As Laos is one of the most beautiful countries I visited till now in Asia, it's hard to describe the atmosphere of this place in words. So I will post some pictures that you can imagine...
Our trip went from Bangkok, crossing the border at NongKai via the Friendshipbridge. From there we went to Vientiane, the Capital (probably Asias smallest, with the exception of Brunei). A local bus took us from there to Vang Vieng, a small city, surrounded by beautiful nature, wher the US Army once had an airfield. From there we went via Highway 13, which is safe these days (even though we heard stories of busdrivers still carrying machine guns for the safety), to Luang Prabang, an enchanting town with some 60 Wats which is considered by some as Asia's most beautiful city...
We went back the same way because it was cheapest and quickest, according to opur Christmas-appointment with some more members of the Bonn-Crew.
Enjoy the pics!
